The ongoing saga of the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb continues, this time with ruling from local courts. On Jan. 13 the South Korean Supreme Court finalized its ruling that the exchange must pay damages to investors over a 1.5-hour service outage on Nov. 12, 2017. Crypto exchange Binance announced it will launch its first index product, the Top 10 Equal-Weighted Index, to kick off its Binance CoinMarketCap (CMC) Index Series. Tech giant Samsung announced it will utilize blockchain technology to upgrade security protocols for all of its smart devices. Knox Matrix is its new blockchain-based security solution for “cross-device experiences.” This means the security layer covers all Samsung devices, from smartphones to home appliances, within the network. New data from DappRadar suggests that gaming remains a vital organ to the blockchain industry. According to the report, the gaming sector accounts for approximately 50.51% of industry usage month-over-month (MoM), as per August numbers. While overall the numbers are a good indicator for the sector, it is a decrease from the previous month. Last month the gaming sector made up approximately 57.30% of industry usage (MoM).
